1906: Reginald Fessenden was the first person to communicate (wireless) speech and music. He was able to get these words across "Hello test, one, two, three, four. If it's snowing where you are, Mr. Thiessen. If it is, telegraph back and let me know"
1907: Edouard Belin invented the transmission of photographs by telegraphs and radio. Him doing this had impressed the French authorities a lot that they agreed to adopt his idea. In 1921, Belin was able to send his first transatlantic photogram. 1911: The IBM corporation is founded. It was originally founded by Charles R. Flint IBM manufactures and markets large businesses. Such as computer systems, microchips that go into electronics. Over the years, IBM have been able to create over 100 mini businesses which they call, icons of progress. 1924: John Logie Baird invented the very first television. In 1923, he was able to go and get a patent for his invention. In 1926, Baird went to demonstrate how the television worked to the members of the Royal Institutes. 1946: The computer was invented by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly. They began construction in 1943 but didn't complete it until 1946. This wasn't the first computer invented or attempted to make. There were several attempts to make a computer. But some people considered it the first computer invented because it was completely functional. 1972: The first mobile phone was invented by Martin Cooper. The first mobile phone had an interesting name to it, the Motorola Dyna-Tac also known as "the brick" In 1973, Cooper was able to make the first call from the mobile phone in the middle of a New York street. 2000: Toyota had finally released the Toyota Prius. It was the first hybrid, four-door sedan that was only available in the united states. |
